APRIL HEADLINES:
March was a busy month for me with yet another move. I've moved into a house with a tad more room for all my projects. After lots of cabinet making and refinishing my office is almost put together and functional. It has been really nice to give up schlepping my road kit up and down stairs every weekend! After three months of separation from my piano I finally got it moved into the new digs and am starting to feel settled in. It really has been a month-long process and I've gotten very little else done in March. Performing at the Sunset Restaurant has been both fun and challenging. Without a piano there, I've been playing my synthesizer. It has been a real challenge to find repertoire that works in that situation -- while still keeping the integrity of both the music and the performance. A lot of my repertoire of the past 20 years just won't work without a real piano. It's been a good stretch for me and I'm coming up with a lot of new original material to meet the challenge. Beginning in April I'll be playing there every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We plan to add Sunday Nights in May, so be sure to stop by and check it out if you're in the area. The Sunset Restaurant at Cher Ae Heights Casino in Trinidad, CA has excellent food, a million dollar view, and a wonderful friendly staff as well as some great music! For those of you who have looked forward to seeing me at the Benbow Inn--it looks as if I will be taking the year off from there in order to work on some other projects and perform in some other markets. I will certainly miss spending time in that beautiful place and hope that I see some of you in Trinidad. Performance Dates for April: Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday Night: Sunset Restaurant at Cher Ae Heights Casino in Trinidad 6:00-9:00 PM Guitar/Vocal Projects I've been working on my guitar/vocal repertoire quite a lot lately. I hope to get out to some of the local open mic nights in April to air some of this material. I recently wrote a new song called 'Another Piece Of Me' that I can't wait to share with more of you. DVD Project Update It's been nearly a year since I began learning to use the software and hardware necessary to realize my vision for a piano music DVD with visuals of Redwoods and other natural wonders of the North Coast. In February I went to the studio and recorded a new soundtrack for this project. Now that my workspace is almost back in order I hope to tackle this one again and possibly have it finished by the end of May. You can check out a short sample of what I have in mind here.
