FEATURED ALBUM FOR DECEMBER

STORMY WEATHER

This Collection came about as an answer to the many requests I received for a mellow and calm album without all the fireworks and intensity. I chose songs that were significant and personal to me that would also benefit from being played simply with feeling. Here are some great tunes together in a peaceful environment.

SONG SPOTLIGHT

SANIBEL

Written By Denny Sarokin, I first heard Sanibel on the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young reunion album, Looking Forward, from the year 2000. I had the opportunity to share my arrangement with Denny:

"I did check out Sanibel. You did a beautiful job of transferring the spirit of an acousticfolk/pop piece into an eloquent, posh piano arrangement. I'm honored that you considered my song for your CD, especially in the company of so many other classic songs."

Sanibel makes a great piano tune with it's beautiful melody and peaceful atmosphere. I get the pleasure of introducing it to people who are unfamiliar with it in my live shows and on this CD.

While this was originally released as a cassette, it was the first digital recording I ever did. The transfer to CD was from the original DAT tapes with five new recordings from August, 2004.

VIDEO ADDED TO MY WEBSITE

One of my current projects is a DVD of a live performance shot at the Benbow Inn in April and May of this year. I'm working on adding some footage of the Redwoods for a nice visual experience. I've put an MPEG up on the front page as a sample for download. I can't get it any smaller than 31 MB yet--so you need high speed to even consider it.

DECEMBER IN BENBOW, JANUARY IN PARADISE.

I'll be at the Benbow Inn every Friday and Saturday in December PLUS some more days between Christmas and New Years Day--from 5:30 to 9:30 PM

January 28 & 29, I'll be at the Abbotswood Restaurant and Lounge in Paradise, CA from 5:00-9:00 PM. If you are in the area, come by for some great food and/or drink and say hi.

SONG INSIGHTS ADDED FOR STORMY WEATHER

To help people understand the relevance to them of my art, I have written insights for each song on Stormy Weather and added them to the web page for that CD. These are the stories behind the music that tell where it came from. It's interesting--check it out!

HELP SUPPORT THE NORTHCOAST ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER

The NCEC in Arcata is currently carrying two CDs--Redwood Reflections and The Sounding Joy. A portion of the proceeds from any sales go to help support their causes. This is a fine opportunity to help support the NCEC and get some great music at the same time.

FREE CD SAMPLERS AVAILABLE IN LOCAL STORES

I'm continuing my campaign to distribute over 1000 free CD Samplers in Northern Humboldt. These samplers contain an introduction to myself and my art, two songs from Redwood Reflections, and the story behind each of those songs. These samplers are available free at The Metro, The Works, and Wildwood Music in Arcata and The Works in Eureka, as well as directly from me wherever I am.
