By Request combines some well-loved standards with some of the most popular show tunes of the late 20th Century with soaring arrangements of Misty and As Time Goes By as well as the beautiful theme from Somewhere In Time.
Four of the selections come from the pages of Andrew Lloyd Webber: the popular Memories from Cats; the dramatically beautiful All I Ask Of You and Music Of The Night from Phantom Of The Opera; and a stirring rendition of Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Evita. Rounding out this wonderful collection of favorites are two songs from Les Miserables, I Dreamed A Dream and On My Own.

Cook's arranging skills shine on Misty, with dramatic tempo changes and interesting melodic variations, lifting a sometimes passe' piano piece into a youthful and rejuvenated delight. If soothing standards are what you are looking for, By Request is a great place to start.
