The Music
Redwood Reflections: A Suite For Solo Piano
1.
Morning Fog--The stillness of early morning deep in the forest. Tendrils of fog snake their way between the trees as the sun rises high enough to splash occasionally through the mass of greenery overhead.
2.
Passage--The journey begins--hiking a moss covered trail past stands of fern and forest flowers deep into the trees.
3.
Sanctuary--The heart of the journey--time in the stillness of an ancient grove. The feeling of the thick, spongy moist moss carpet underneath. The heavy silence full of the breathing of trees, the rustling of life; a feeling of peace and well-being.
4.
Can’t Keep My Mind On Business--Here all the cares and worries fly away, allowing you to relax and your mind to wander........
5.
Above The Canopy--Your mind takes flight ---soaring with the eagles above the endless forest; invigorating; inspiring.
6.
Waterfall--The power and flowing motion of falling water. The brisk sharpness as it splashes into the pool and makes it’s way downstream.
7.
Mountainside MP3 Download--The journey back to the beginning bubbling down the trail with the water; refreshed and revitalized from the experience.
8.
If I Could Fill Your Cup MP3 Download--A lyrical love song I wrote one Valentines Day when I desperately needed a present for someone special.
9.
Benson’s Soliloquy--Lazy afternoon listening. Slow Ragtime in the happy/melancholy style of Scott Joplin.
10.
The End Of The Century--A lament about the current state of affairs and how little we seem to have progressed in how we treat fellow humans.
11.
Webs--A dream, a weaving of threads into whole cloth, of brush strokes into murals. Soaring and Soothing.
12.
El Cuervo--When my son, Kai, was four years old he was singing this song about a crow. As a music lesson at the time we expanded on it a little. Over the next few days it grew in my hands into this latin-flavored, happy piece.
