HCAR Presents An Evening With Matthew Cook
A Concert For World Down Syndrome Day, March 21st, 2008
At The Arkley Center For The Performing Arts
Recently returned from performances at Sundance Film Festival promoting the film ‘800 CDs’, Local artist Matthew Cook will present an evening of music at the Arkley Center For The Performing Arts to inform and promote the inclusion of people with Down Syndrome in Community Life.
Well known in Humboldt County for his piano performances over the past 25 years, his lesser known work as a singer/songwriter reflects raw, honest, personable observations about life and the issues, both personal and social, that many of us encounter on our journey. Over his long career he has released 10 albums and had his music featured in film.
This concert will feature a combination of his original work both as a solo pianist and as a singer/songwriter.

We Belong! is a statement that people with Down Syndrome are capable of full participation in community and family life. These are people with hopes, dreams, and aspirations just like everyone else who belong in the mainstream of humanity.
The concert is a benefit for Humboldt Community Access and Resource Center, and their many programs that assist people with developmental challenges in living fulfilling lives.
